First we hear that Kim visited a divorce lawyer
this week, now Business Insider is claiming that
the couple have put up the mansion they just
bought up for sale.Below is the report from
Business Insider
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are selling
the 8,000-square-foot French country-style
home they purchased for a reported $19.75
million in August, Curbed LA reports.
The mansion just reappeared on real estate
listing site Zillow with a $19.99m price tag.
The home, which was formerly owned by
Lisa Marie Presley, includes 8 bedrooms, 10
bathrooms, 2 swimming pools, two spas,
and even a vineyard on its three acre
property.
Why do I feel that the next report we will hear is
that Kim and Kanye are expecting baby number
2?

The National Chairman of Nigeria’s
independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC), Professor Attahiru Jeff has confirmed
the arrest of two INEC Ad hoc staff for
carrying out a house-to-house registration of
voters in Kano State.
The arrest which was said to have been
made at a Polling Unit in the Kabo area of
Kano, was effected NY operatives of the
Department of State Service (DSS) and the
Police in the state.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC,
for Kano State also confirmed the arrest
yesterday.
Although the two arrested individuals have
been granted bail, he affirmed that they will
be prosecuted, adding that the process of
replacement of the two staff involved was
already on.
He also confirmed that the arrested persons
were not members of the National Youth
Service Corps, but are students being used
to complement the manpower shortage of
Corps members.

Tunisia progressed to the group stages of
the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with a
goalless draw against Botswana in Gaborone
on Friday.
The solitary point from that encounter was
enough to guide the ‘Carthage Eagles’ into
their 17th appearance at the biennial
championship, as they now top their pool
with 11 points.
Botswana, who already have conceded
qualification hopes, picked up their first point
of the qualification campaign.
The 2004 winners join Algeria and Cape
Verde who had both secured their slot for the
finals rescheduled for Equatorial Guinea.

Ivory Coast kept Afcon 2015 qualification
hopes alive following a 5-1 thrashing of
Sierra Leone earlier on Friday. The Elephants,
who are on nine points, now trail group
leaders Cameroon by a point, with the
Indomitable Lions up against DR Congo on
Saturday.
DR Congo are third on six points, while
bottom-placed Sierra Leone are out of the
race with a point from five matches.
Hosts Sierra Leone entertained Herve
Reinard’s men away from home in Abidjan
due to the severity of the Ebola outbreak in
their country. Defender Kolo Toure opened
scoring for Ivory Coast but Mustapha
Bangura leveled for the Leone Stars via a
superb volley.
Solomon Kalou restored Cote d’Ivoire’s lead
as the 2012 finalists took control of
proceedings in the second half. Max-Alain
Gradel poked home from close range and
Gervinho grabbed Ivory Coast’s fourth to put
the game beyond Sierra Leonean’s. Kalou
completed his brace, slotting past the
goalkeeper after a powerful run.

Manuel Neuer will not travel with Germany
squad to Spain for an international friendly
in Vigo on Tuesday night because of a knee
injury.
A slight problem with the Bayern Munich
goalkeeper’s right knee has ruled him out of
the clash with the European Cup holders.
“I would have liked to have been able to field
my best team against Spain, but we did not
want to take any risks with Manuel,” said
Germany coach Joachim Low on the website
of German Football Association (DFB).
“With Roman Weidenfeller (Borussia
Dortmund) and Ron-Robert Zieler (Hannover
96), we have two excellent alternatives who
have more than deserved to play against
Spain. I know I can rely on both of them.”
Neuer, 28, kept a clean sheet as Germany
defeated Gibraltar 4-0 on Friday evening. His
withdrawal from Tuesday’s friendly is
understood to be precautionary; however, the
severity of his injury is not yet clear.
Neuer joins Marcos Reus, Andre Schuerrle,
Mesut Ozil, Julian Draxler and Bastian
Schweinsteiger amongst the list of German
absentees for the 2010 World Cup semi-final
replay.
Bayern return to German Bundesliga action
next Saturday against Hoffenheim before
travelling to face Manchester City in the
UEFA Champions League having already
qualified for the knockout stages, although
City need to win that game to keep their
hopes alive of joining them in the last 16.

Find the EFCC press release below....
Federal High Court sitting in Benin, Edo
State yesterday reserved ruling in the
N25billion money laundering and abuse of
office charge brought against Micheal
Igbinedion and Charles Eboigbodin by the
Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission, EFCC, for January 30, 2015.
Justice J. Liman on Friday November 14,
2014, fixed the January 30 date for
judgement after the adoption of written
addresses by counsel: Rotimi Jacob SAN
for the prosecution and Mike Ozekhome
SAN, Ricky Tafa SAN and Barr. Richard O.
Ahonaruogo for the accused persons
The accused persons along with their
companies: Gava Corporation Limited; Romrig
Nigeria Limited; PML Securities Company
Limited and PML Nigeria Limited, were arraigned
by the anti- graft agency on a 81-count charge
bothering on Money Laundering, Misappropriation
of funds, conspiracy and Abuse of office.
While addressing the court, Jacobs hinged his
submission on the testimonies of prosecution
witnesses which, according to him, corroborated
the charge, with emphasis on the several public
funds deposited into private accounts, and how
government funds were used to repay loans
collected by former governor Lucky Igbinedion
while he was in office.
Jacobs then prayed the court to "accept the
prosecution’s case as presented and convict the
accused persons as charged".
But before closing his address, the prosecuting
counsel called the attention of the court to the
inability of the bailiff to serve the summon earlier
issued by it on the former Edo State governor,
who failed to present himself in court, after the
Appeal Court decision in April, asking him to
return to the High Court for trial.
Jacobs disclosed that all efforts by the bailiff to
serve Lucky Igbinedion with the summon, met a
brick wall as he was always turned back from
the gate by security men who told him on all
occasions that Igbinedion was out of town.
The EFCC counsel then prayed the court to
permit a substituted service of the summon on
the last known address of Igbinedion.
"May I apply that the first accused person be
served by allowing the prosecution paste the
notice at the known address,” he said.
But Justice Liman advised the prosecuting
counsel to make an application. According to
him, "the summon has expired, you can reapply
or ask for a substituted service as there are
other means of service. Prosecution must make
another application."

The founder and publisher of Sahara
Reporters Omoyele Sowore has reacted to
reports that he got a $5million mansion
located in Atherton, California, from the
APC. Reacting to the report which
claimed that the mansion is one of the
many promises made to Sowore by APC
and has...
"...Everything a modern home
should have like swimming pool;
grand hall, with 15-foot ceilings and
marble floors, ideal for dancing;
French doors opening to the
veranda; dining room with a rouge
royale marble fireplace; stained
glass windows and a crystal 12-
branch chandelier; Red-carpeted
double mahogany stairway,
complemented by a foliate motif
stained glass window on the
landing; Wrap-around veranda
available for seasonal use and
Ample covered or outdoor parking.
...Sow ore accused the presidency of
being behind the story and asked
president Jonathan to show the world
proof that he was given a mansion by
APC. See his reaction as posted on SR
after the cut
By Sowore, publisher of Sahara
Reporters
In the latest of many attempts at blackmailing
SaharaReporters into silence, a new (what else?)
website has concocted the story that the All
Progressives Congress (APC) bought and gave
me a mansion located in Atherton, California.
Everyone around the world knows that Nigerian
governments since 2006 have been trying to shut
down or shut up SaharaReporters. Technical
efforts to shut us down occur almost every
week. Efforts to shut us up are no less prevalent,
and they include blackmail from various
directions.
The Atherton mansion claim, which was
apparently written by some handlers of President
Goodluck Jonathan, followed renewed attacks on
the site infrastructure during the summer. The
well-oiled and well-heeled team sent bots after
our server and crippled it for several days.
Shortly after we restored our services, that
criminal team went on Facebook to create
several fake fan pages in our name. It was only
three weeks ago that we succeeded in getting
Facebook to take down the biggest of those fan
pages; by that time, it had garnered over 14,000
likes.
In this latest attempt, Mr. Jonathan’s hit squad
seems to have gone berserk over an online poll
conducted by SaharaReporters, which showed
that he would be defeated by 75% if retired
General Muhammad Buhari, was pitched against
him in the 2015 general election.
Following Mr. Jonathan’s declaration of intent
earlier this week, our team of reporters also
reported that a team affiliated with the Nigerian
ruler refused to pay several persons who had
been hired to pose as supporters during his
presidential declaration in Abuja. The presidency
seems widely embarrassed at the report that
hordes of those in attendance at what was
supposed to be a massively-supported
declaration had in fact been hoodwinked by his
Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN).
These reports and many others unveil the
government as tactless, clueless and corrupt, but
that is only because it is tactless, clueless and
corrupt. They are not manufactured, and unlike
some others, we have refused to be bought off
the task of reporting what we know.
The truth is that my team and I are beyond
bribery machineries. Mr. Jonathan’s foot
soldiers, who have repeatedly been sent to meet
with us individually with the promise of huge
bribes can attest to this. For those amazed by
the latest gossip about the $5m mansion bribe
in the United States, I challenge the writers to
publicly provide the verifiable address of the
mansion in Atherton. They should also go ahead
and publish the real estate documents that are
associated with the property, so that we can put
the matter in the hands of the law-enforcement
authorities.
But we all know the truth: desperation.
It is desperation that is responsible for the
concoction of this $5 million mansion story, the
objective of which is to fool the simple-minded.
And we understand: the 2015 elections are
approaching. Time to buy off—or discourage—
critics and unfavorable reporting.
But we at SaharaReporters are not fickle
fighters. Nobody gave us a $5m home in 2009
when we were at the hub of relentlessly reporting
on the cabal in Abuja that was preventing the
Vice-President of Nigeria from taking office when
his boss was sick.
That VP was Goodluck Jonathan, and that is
how he became president. We reported only as
we saw fit, because we hold the constitution and
the democracy of Nigeria to be superior to any
Nigerian, including the President. When Mr.
Jonathan became Acting President, and then
President, we did not expect him to thank us
either, even though he sent one of his aides with
loads of cash to New York on a "thank you"
tour.
We refused to meet with them on that occasion
and reminded them that we were merely doing
our duty in defense of Nigeria and her people.
It was not personal at that time. It is not
personal today.
That is why I again assure all supporters,
readers and fans of the multimedia platform
known as Sahara Reporters Media that we will
continue to expose the rot that is perpetuated
and perpetrated by the Jonathan government as
long as that character does not change. It is
not personal.
Blackmail will not deter us from doing right by
our people. And neither phantom mansions nor
private jets loaded with dollar bills can buy us
off this duty.

A Nigerian man, Abdullahi Hassan Ali, has
accused an unidentified Nigerian soldier of
allegedly killing and stealing from his friend,
Mohammed (pictured above), who was kind
enough to give the soldier a lift in his car. Ali
claims the soldier killed his friend, threw his
body out of the car and drove away in the car.
Possibly a robber in a military uniform. See what
Abdullahi posted on his Facebook page after the
cut...*graphic pic when you continue...*
I can vividly remember those days when
Mohammed was in my office as a student
on industrial attachment (IT). He was such
a gentle being will high hopes for the
future.Although he appeared to be a quite
and gentle person, but he is the kind of
person that speaks alot when actualy says
nothing at all. Moreover,i used to like him
because he was a physics student from the
same department i graduated in UNIMAID.It
is so unfortunate that his life was cut short
by a Auto-theft soldier that shot him and
got away with his car.
Mohammed, being a generous and gentle
soul gave the soldier man a lift in his
car,and the soldier man shot him, threw him
out of the car and ran away with it. Some
good samaritans found Mohammed beside
roadway bleeding to death and hurriedly
decided to rush him to the nearest hospital,
but poor Mohammed never made it to the
hospital gate. Mohammed struggled and
managed to narrate the unfortunate
incident to his helpers before he died. The
soldier man was later arrested with the car,
and is still under custody. May almighty
Allah forgive all his mistakes and grant him
Aljannah.Ameen.

A research carried out in Nigeria by scientists
from the University of Edinburgh, England,
revealed that one in every four Nigerian is at risk
of being diagnosed with high blood pressure.
High blood pressure - also known as
hypertension - which can cause stroke, heart
disease and kidney disease, is twice as high in
Nigeria compared with other East African
countries and very few are aware that they have
the condition.
The study also revealed that the figure will
sharply rise as more Nigerians continue to live
like westerners lives until drastic measures are
put in place.
There were more than 20 million cases of
hypertension in Nigeria in 2010, affecting one-in-
three men and one-in-four women and
researchers predict a rise in figure to 39 million
cases by 2030.
Their findings have been published in the
“Journal of Hypertension” and it is the first up-
to-date nationwide estimate showing how
hypertension affects Nigerians at an alarming
rate.

Governor Fashola yesterday met with
representatives of the South African government
who were in Nigeria to facilitate the repatriation
of the bodies of 54 South Africans who died in
the September 12th Synagogue building collapse.
Addressing the South African delegation led by
South Africa's Minister in the Presidency Mr
Jeffrey Radebe, Governor Fashola said the DNA
test on 70 bodies out of the 116 retrieved from
the scene of the incident have been concluded
and gave the go-ahead for the release of the 54
South Africans identified by the DNA test results.
The governor apologized for the delay in the
release of the bodies, stating that the state
government was being careful in releasing the
bodies so as not to hand the body of any victim
to a wrong family.
Briefing the delegation, the state Chief Medical
Examiner, Prof John Obafunwa, said of the 116
persons that died in the tragic incident, 70 of
them have been positively tested and identified.
Out of the 70, 54 are South Africans while the
remaining were from Nigeria, Benin republic,
Togo and other countries.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives,
Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, who recently joined APC,
has joined the 2015 presidential race. According
to reports, he picked up his presidential
nomination and expression of interest forms this
past Monday November 10th.
He joins former Head of State Gen. Muhammadu
Buhari, former VP Atiku Abubakar, Kano State
Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and the Publisher
of Leadership newspapers, Sam Nda-Isaiah, in
the APC presidential race. Any of them of
interest to you?

The hope for the emergence of a consensus
presidential candidate for the All Progressives
Congress has dimmed as efforts by leaders
of the party from the North to broker a deal
failed on Tuesday night.
Only a former Vice-President, Atiku
Abubakar, who is one of the four aspirants
from the region showed up for the meeting
which held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
The others – Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari,
Rabiu Kwankwaso and Sam Nda-Isaiah –
were absent from the parley convened by the
APC Deputy National Chairman (North),
Alhaji Lawali Shuaibu.
When contacted, the Coordinator of the Atiku
Media Office, Garba Shehu, said he was yet
to get the details of the meeting. But he
stated that the position of the former vice-
president on the issue of consensus was
already well known...
Shehu said, “I am yet to be briefed but the
Turaki’s position on this issue is already well
known. He has been meeting with delegates
in preparation for the primaries.”
He also explained that APC had since left the
issue to the aspirants and that to be best of
his knowledge, there had not been any recent
meeting where the presidential aspirants met
to discuss or agree on the emergence of a
consensus candidate.
But the Director of Publicity, Buhari Support
Group Centre, Dr. Chidia Madueke, said the
absence of the former Head of State and
other aspirants from the meeting should not
be misconstrued for lack of interest.
He said, “Caucus meetings are normal at
times like these. Like you rightly pointed out,
it was a caucus meeting, representatives of
the various interests were there, even when
the principals were not there, it does not
diminish the importance of the meeting.
Consensus building is an ongoing thing.”
A highly placed APC member, who was privy
to the Tuesday night meeting, said: “To be
honest with you, the mood among those of
us who attended the meeting did not show
that the consensus thing will work out.
“All the aspirants, even the most vocal
advocates of consensus arrangement, are
preparing for primaries. The party’s
leadership has also set in motion the
machinery for a primary election so, I don’t
see how the issue of consensus can gain
currency at this point.”

Contrary to reports that Charissa Munroe
died in the ill fated plane crash that killed her
parents, the church, Bahamas Faith Ministry,
has released a statement stating otherwise.
Read it below:
On behalf of the Board of Governors and
the entire Bahamas Faith Ministries Family
we wish to extend our gratitude for the
tremendous outpouring of love and support
by the many persons who have offered
condolences and prayers.
Among those confirmed to have passed
away in yesterday’s tragic plane crash were:
Founder & President of Bahamas Faith
Ministries International Dr. Myles Munroe
and his wife Pastor Ruth Munroe,
Senior Vice-President Dr. Richard
Pinder,
Newly installed Youth Pastors Lavard
and Radel Parks and their son Johannan,
Pilots Stanley Thurston and Farkhan
Cooper and one additional passenger.
Words cannot express our profound sense
of loss for all of the team members on this
tragic flight. Dr. Munroe was our visionary,
our founder, our mentor, advisor, father
figure and friend. He was a global leader and
icon and was respected worldwide. His wife
Ruth was a faithful companion and constant
support for Dr. Munroe and was equally
beloved.
Dr. Richard Pinder was the embodiment of
a true Pastor who loved people, was faithful
in service and gave his best to all. Pastor
Rich as he was affectionally called was truly
the glue that kept our ministry together. His
warm smile and personal pastoral care was
truly a comfort and a blessing to so many of
our members throughout the years of our
church.
Pastors Lavard & Radel Parks were
recently installed as Youth Pastors of the
Youth Ministry having both being officially
ordained and installed as the church’s
second full time Youth Pastors on Easter
Sunday April 20th 2014. Both were products
of both Dr. Munroe and Dr. Pinders’
leadership and were personally mentored by
Dr.Dave & Pastor Angie Burrows.
Our pilots included Senior Officer Stanley
Thurston who was an experienced pilot and
served for many years as Pastor Myles’s
personal pilot. Also on board was Co-Pilot
Frakhan Cooper who was also a faithful
member of our aviation team. Both gave
excellent service.
Dr. Munroe taught us to have faith and to
pursue purpose and advance the Kingdom
Principles of Jesus Christ here on earth. He
also taught us to be leaders. As a Church
body and organization we will move forward
as Dr. Munroe would have wanted us to. We
recognize that there will be challenges but
we have full confidence that God will see us
through and we intend to make our founding
leaders proud.
We ask for your continued prayers and
support. We will issue further details on plans
for home going services and other matters
relating to the future of Bahamas Faith

siege of Boko Haram insurgents have vowed to move to Cameroon Republic,
should the Federal Government continue to pay lip service to the activities of
insurgents who have taken over their territories.
The residents who were angered by the incessant attacks and killings
occasioned by the Boko Haram incursion and expressed dismay over the
failure of the Federal Government to deploy security to checkmate the
insurgents.
They said with the increasing attacks, they were left with no alternative but
to move to Cameroon Republic.
One of the fleeing residents, Garba Buba, said their communities were left
unprotected, adding that with the constant annexation of towns and villages
and the deliberate pogrom meted to the people, they had lost confidence in
Nigeria.
“We have lost confidence in Nigeria, because it has failed in its onerous
responsibility to protect us. With the situation, we have no alternative other
than to change our nationality.
“We have been patient for a long time, even as we continue to suffer serious
losses in terms of human lives and properties in the past without security
operatives doing enough to protect us,” he said.
Another displaced person from Michika, Bitrus Kamale, said he was being
forced by circumstances to change nationality as a result of dearth of
security that had rendered many people in the area homeless, while many
others were left stranded in Cameroon border villages.
“The government should tell us whether we are Nigerians or not. We are tired
of being killed on a daily basis like fowls by insurgents and the continued
harassment from soldiers,” he said.
Another resident of the area, Musa Welye, said the people of the affected
areas were deeply regretting being in Nigeria, adding that had they chose not
to be in Nigeria during the 1961 plebiscite, it would have been better for
them.

One prophecy dramatically informs us that
America, specifically, will be in some degree
of financial prosperity until God annihilates
her in judgment, with fire, in one hour.
That inspired prognostication from God is
found Revelation 18, so let us turn our
attention to this most important prophecy,
maybe one of the most important
predictions of our End of the Age time
period.
America may be the Economic Babylon of
Revelation 18, as she is certainly symbolic of
the widespread system of Anti-God evil that
the Bible says is inherent in any Babylonian
system.
Revelation 18 describes destruction by fire--
God's fire--of "Babylon the Great"

One Hour run time

"So it turns out there is an Obamacare death panel after all. "
This author is NOT speaking of the medical "advisory panel"
required by ObamaCare, but rather, the Supreme Court of the United
States! How can this be?
"It has nine members and it operates out of a marble building
directly across the street from the Capitol. When the Supreme Court
on Friday announced that it would take up another challenge to the
Affordable Care Act in March, it delivered the threat of two mortal
blows to the signature achievement of the Obama presidency. "
Since President Franklin Roosevelt saw much of his "New Deal"
program gutted by the Supreme Court, the Elite has taken great care
to select only men and women for the High Court who are
completely sold out to the plan of the New World Order. Therefore, I
will have to see the Court deliver a mortal blow against ObamaCare
before I will believe it!
What are these two "mortal blows" which the High Court may
deliver against ObamaCare?
1) "... the justices, who narrowly spared the law in 2012, will in June
come out with a new ruling that would dismantle the law on
different grounds ... the very act of taking up the challenge to the
law will itself undermine the law ... The justices announced their
decision just a week before the open-enrollment period for 2015
begins — and the looming possibility that the high court will strike
down the law will probably deter those who are considering signing
up for its coverage."
2) "... the justices could strike down 'the heart of the transfer
program' that is the underpinning of Obamacare and would
'accelerate the process' toward the program’s demise."
"Even the Center for American Progress blog, Think Progress,
explained how, under an adverse ruling, premiums would soar,
millions would lose coverage, and 'Obamacare will face a death
spiral'.”
Many experienced observers have long noted that this Socialist
Health Care Program is so huge and so expensive and so unwieldy,
that it might collapse over a period of time.
"Rest In Peace" ObamaCare!

Tennis icon Serena Williams was quite honest
about her relationship status during a Twitter
Q&A with her fans last week. When asked if she
wants to settle down and have kids, she said
'desperately'

Asked if she was single, Serena said 'Not by choice.' Aww...so honest! See that after the
cut...

I agree to it... Do you???

Boko Haram Monday added to the territory it
controls in Nigeria’s northeast, as it overran
the town of Maiha in Adamawa State.
Two of the captured towns had earlier been
renamed by the terrorists. Mubi, in Adamawa
was renamed ‘Madinatul Islam’, meaning the
“City of Islam,” after an October 29 invasion,
while Gwoza in Borno was renamed “Darul
Hikma” meaning “House of Wisdom”.
Although several residents have deserted the
town due to its closeness to captured Mubi;
Maiha is about 25 kilometres from Mubi; the
insurgents took over the town regardless,
expanding its captured territory.
Reports quote residents as claiming that
they saw many soldiers fleeing Maiha as the
insurgents stormed the town, as any of them
caught by insurgents would have been killed.
“The insurgents started trooping into the
town around 2:30 p.m. and engaged troops
stationed at Kosha before advancing to the
main town of Maiha. The soldiers, who
advanced to the area in their bid to recapture
Mubi, started running away as the insurgents
overran the entire town,” a fleeing resident,
Kabir Musa told online news medium,
Premium Times in a telephone interview.
Vanguard quoted another resident of the
town, Garba Baba, as saying that some
fleeing soldiers begged him to assist them
with civilian clothes so they would not be
traced by the insurgents. He said the
soldiers even threw their guns into the bush.
“The fleeing soldiers asked us to give them
our clothes so that they can camouflage and
escape from the area safely as some of them
discarded their weapons in the bush. A lot of
discarded weapons are currently lying in the
bush,” said Baba.
He said the Nigerian troops did not resist the
Boko Haram insurgents.
“The insurgents did not encounter any
challenge as they stormed the town in APCs
and Toyota Hilux vans, firing shots into the
soldiers’ directions , and chanting Allahu
Akbar. The Boko Haram insurgents had
ordered us not to run, saying that they were
not after civilians but soldiers and other
security people,” he said.
The insurgents were said to have hoisted
their flags at strategic points in the town.
The military had claimed to be making
progress in its onslaught to recapture the
towns taken by Boko Haram, but had just
complained that the terrorists’ tactics of
using women and children as human shield
had slowed them down in the operation. It
remains to be seen how the military turns
around the situation and save the territorial
integrity of Nigeria.

A new germ-zapping robot could help stop the
spread of deadly viruses, like Ebola, in hospitals
and other health care facilities in the United
States.
Standing a little more than 5 feet (1.5 meters)
tall, the robot — nicknamed "Saul" — uses
pulses of high-intensity, high-energy ultraviolet
rays to split open bacterial cell walls and kill
dangerous pathogens, said Geri Genant, a health
care services implementation manager with
Xenex, the company that developed the robot.
A surgical team at the U.S. Air Force Hospital
Langley in Hampton, Virginia, was recently
trained to use the virus-destroying robot, which
can kill a single strand of ribonucleic acid (RNA)
— similar to that of the Ebola virus— in less than
5 minutes, Genant said.
"Hospitals that have used this have been able to
bring infection rates down, in many cases [by] 60
percent," Genant said in a statement . The
hospitals Genant was referring to were
presumably not those affected by the Ebola
epidemic.
The robot's latest pit stop, Langley Air Force
Base, is home to the U.S. military's 633rd
Medical Group, a group of service members who
recently returned from an assignment in West
Africa. There, they were charged with setting up
a medical support facility in one of the West
African countries hardest hit by the Ebola
outbreak, according to the Air Force. The team
also trained international health care workers on
how to use the facility's equipment.
Although the 633rd Medical Group allegedly had
no exposure to the Ebola virus or to Ebola
victims during its time in Africa, the U.S. military
is still taking every precaution to prevent Ebola
from spreading in the U.S. , should one or more
of the military's recently returned service
members fall ill with the virus. Everyone involved
with the mission is being monitored twice daily
for three weeks after their return to the U.S., and
so far, no symptoms of the virus have been
reported.
The new virus-killing robot at Langley Air Force
Base is an added precaution that provides
patients, as well as medical staff, with an
additional measure of safety, said Marlene
Kerchenski, the 633rd MDG surgeon general chief
of nursing services.
Staff members wearing proper protection
equipment traditionally clean hospital rooms at
Langley using chemicals that are known to kill
harmful viruses, bacteria and fungi. However,
these pathogens can still linger in some areas,
according to Air Force officials. The Ebola virus,
for example, can survive on dry surfaces — like
doorknobs and countertops — for several hours if
those areas are not properly disinfected,
according to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention.
But Saul the robot's ultraviolet rays, which are
25,000 times brighter than florescent lights, can
kill the pathogens that human hands miss,
according to officials at Xenex.
"Xenex has tested its full spectrum disinfection
system on 22 microorganisms, studying nearly
2,000 samples in several independent labs all
over the world," Genant said. The bot can
destroy viruses similar to Ebola with an
efficiency rate of 99.9 percent, she added.
Hospital staff at Langley will continue to receive
training on the proper use of the disinfecting
robot, which will soon be used to help eradicate
and control viruses throughout the hospital.

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has
donated $1 million to assist the fight against
Ebola in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
Chairman of the UBA Board, Tony O Elumelu
announced the donation to the three West
African countries, where UBA does business.
Nigeria had been declared Ebola-free in
September.
“This donation is an affirmation of our
unshakeable commitment to the continent –
and a message that Africa can triumph over
this terrible affliction,” he said.
The donation will be disbursed through the
UBA Foundation, UBA’s corporate social
responsibility arm, and is to be shared
equally among the three countries.
The remaining $100,000 is to be contributed
to the African Union Support Mission to the
Ebola Outbreak in West Africa (ASEOWA),
initiated by the African Union Chair,
Nkosazana Dlamini- Zuma.
