Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Yero has urged
religious leaders to educate their followers on proper
conduct ahead of the 2015 elections.
Yero spoke, Monday, when the leadership of the state
chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)
paid him a courtesy visit in Kaduna.
According to him, leadership comes from God. People
must therefore learn to allow the will of God to always
prevail.
He noted that the Church had a role to play in ensuring
peaceful elections. He therefore urged the Christian
leaders to preach peace, love and mutual coexistence
before, during and after the election, so as to engender
growth and development in the state and the country.
He prayed for a peaceful Christmas celebration, and
wished the people of the state happiness.
State Chairman of CAN, Rev. Fr George Dodo, who
spoke earlier said the visit was in the spirit of
Christmas, to share the message of peace, solidarity
and pray for the administration.
He lauded the governor for the peaceful conduct of the
political parties’ primaries across the state and prayed
for the peaceful conduct of the polls in 2015.
