Diyachenko, who is the mother of the Chelsea midfielder’s twins, gave no indication that she was pregnant until Mikel posted a picture of the twins on his Instagram page.
Speculation was rife that a woman other than Olga was the mother of the twins, but that has ended since she shared a photo from when she was pregnant.

Residents of Abesan Estate in the Ipaja, Lagos were thrown into confusion after a 34 year old man, Nelson Oamen, stabbed his father, 74year old father, Ehiremen Oamen, to death, removed his heart and left with it after an altercation on Friday.

It was gathered that the father who was  a retiree was battling with stroke, and usually remained indoors.
His 34 year old son was said to be a drug addict and a no good lay about who lived off people.
According to eyewitnesses, at about 2pm on Friday, Nelson visited his father at his apartment and an argument ensued between the two. Nelson, who was suspected to be high on drugs, allegedly stabbed his father to death in his bedroom, and covered his body with a blanket.

Nelson’s younger sister, who did not want her name in print, discovered their father's body and raised the alarm after she discovered that there was a deep hole on the left side of his chest after he had been stabbed in several places.

The incident was then reported at the Ipaja Police Division.
Nelson's other sister who wanted to remain anonymous said:

“For about five years now, dad had been nursing a stroke, and he could not work again. So, he used to stay at home. Nelson did not have a stable location. He just came to the area on Friday.

“I was told that he came in through the window before committing the act. It was his younger sister, who has a shop in the area, and came in a few minutes later to change her clothes, who first observed bloodstains in the sitting room.

“She then traced the bloodstains to daddy’s room, and found out that he had been killed. We have not seen any sign of Nelson since then.”

A landlord in the area, Akeem Salau, who described the deceased as an easy-going man, said:

“The man has eight children. Nelson is the fourth child. The young man does not have any stable job. He also smokes and drinks heavily. He does not live here, but only comes once in a while.

“On that Friday, some people saw him in the afternoon. The people who saw him said he was unstable. He went into their house, and it was a few minutes later that they found the father dead. He fled immediately. When I went in to see the corpse, I observed that the old man was stabbed in several places. No one could have been so wicked except one was on drugs.”

Nelson is still at large and the Police are looking for him.

Samaria Hospital, a private medical facility in Lagos, has detained a woman for more than one month over the woman’s failure to pay her bills.

The hospital, which is based in the Ikotun Egbe area of Lagos, has detained Jessica Ugwuoke since August 12, 2015, after the woman and her relatives said they could not afford to pay the bill for her Caesarean section (CS).

Mrs. Ugwuoke was transferred from a maternity clinic to Samaria Hospital, which is located on Kudaki Road near Hostel bus stop in Egbe, Lagos State. The patient’s husband, Tochukwu Ugwuoke, was asked to pay N30,000 for blood transfusion into his wife, reported to have lost a lot of blood during labor. The couple’s birth died.

After the loss of her child, Mrs. Ugwuoke has been detained by the hospital for failure to pay the hospital’s bills, which came to N285,000. The detained patient told a correspondent of SaharaReporters that the couple was not informed of the cost of the Caesarean section until after the surgery.

According to her, one Dr. Clem ordered that she be denied a hospital bed and refused her further treatment after her surgery because she and her husband could not pay the amount of the bill.

“The day they discharged me from the bed, Dr. Clem asked me to tell my husband to bring his money even if he [my husband] has to steal,” the woman said. “I have been lying down on the passageway,” Mrs. Ugwuoke added.

SaharaReporters learned that the detained patient’s husband, who is currently unemployed, had pleaded with the hospital to release his wife, promising to seek a loan to pay her hospital expenses, but the hospital declined his request.

Mrs. Ugwuoke, who is chained to a urinal pipe to forestall her escape, described her treatment as dehumanizing. She pleaded with the Lagos State government and human rights organizations to intervene to ensure her release.

This morning I woke up late trying to get some stuff done at night. On checking my mail, a friend sent me this mail about waking up at night and its benefits, so i decide to share with you.

While it can be very unnatural for some people, staying awake at night is alright for you at times.
Just like some people are morning birds, some are night owls.
Don’t feel like you are missing out on what happens during the day when you can experience all of the great effects of staying up at night. Here are five reasons why staying awake at night isn’t so bad.

1. The Best Ideas Occur at Night
Sometimes, the best ideas and innovations arrive at night. I have many experiences with this. During the day, when I had to write an essay, especially for school, I noticed that my mind wouldn’t work. I kept getting writer’s block until the night came around. During the night, I had a totally different experience. I could do whatever I wanted to do. I would have wonderful ideas come to mind. Sometimes the best ideas occur at night.

2. Time Alone Without Noise Or Talking
Late night happens to be a time when most people are asleep unless they work the night shift. I happen to think this is the most peaceful time of all. I get time to read, eat, and pray without any kind of distractions or constant talking or yelling. It helps me be at peace with myself and surroundings.
This can be difficult throughout the day when everyone is busy with working and getting things done. Late night works for me. I get time to quietly unwind at the end of a long day and gather my thoughts effectively. That is why I think staying up late is not a bad thing at all. The fact of the matter is how you end up using the time. I know that I use it wisely. I know you too can use your time wisely at night.

3. Accomplishing More Is Easier Without Background Noise
Because you are the only one awake, you can focus on whatever it is you are doing. When I was in college and in high school, I used to stay up late studying and doing a$$ignments. It was easier than working throughout the day because there were all types of conversation going on around me. It just made things easier for me to focus without all of the background noise that happens during the day.
By working at night, I was able to not only accomplish more, but remember things I couldn’t have done if I had studied at another time. So, I greatly benefitted from it. It just be thing that you are looking for. Just try and time will only tell.

4. Enjoying Time For Yourself
The time at night is something that enables you to enjoy yourself. You can simply turn on the television without anyone telling you that they do not want to watch a certain channel that you would like to. Now, it is simply the television and you. Turn on your favorite episode of “Modern Family,” “Big Bang Theory,” “Mom,” or watch movies and documentaries from Netflix. If that is not on your bucket list, you can go ahead, check the DVR, and see if you have any interesting things to watch there. The list is pretty much endless.
However, if you would like to do something else besides watching television, you can take out a photo album, and look at your favorite memories. I know I do that when I feel lonely. I feel much better after having looked at my childhood pictures. Maybe, this can help you too.

Remember, the point is to enjoy yourself. It is okay to stay up late. But, if you get tired, go to sleep. There is nothing wrong with you except that you are tired. If you aren’t then that is fine also. It depends on your needs. We are all different. No need to be someone you are not.

17 yr old Pakistani education activist and the
youngest-ever Nobel Prize recipient Malala
Yousafzai, wrote a touching letter to missing
Chibok girls to commemorate their 1 year in
captivity. In the letter, Malala who was in Nigeria
in July 2014, said she will never forget them and
called on Nigerian and World leaders to do more
towards the rescue of the kidnapped girls. Full text
of her letter below…

"To my brave sisters, the
kidnapped schoolgirls of
Chibok,
On this first anniversary of
your captivity, I write to you
with a message of
solidarity, love and hope.
My name is Malala. I am a
Pakistani girl your age. I am
one of the millions of people
around the world who keep
you and your families
foremost in our thoughts
and prayers. We cannot
imagine the full extent of the
horrors you have endured.
But please know this: we
will never forget you. We
will always stand with you."

Today and every day, we call on the Nigerian
authorities and the international community to do
more to bring you home. We will not rest until you
have been reunited with your families.
Like you, I was a target of militants who did not
want girls to go to school. Gunmen shot me and
two of my friends on a school bus. All three of us
survived and are back in school. Now we speak
out on behalf of all girls about the right to get a
proper education. Our campaign will continue until
you and all girls and boys around the world are
able to access a free, safe and quality secondary
education.

Last July, I spent my 17th birthday in Nigeria with
some of your parents and five of your classmates
who escaped the kidnapping. Your parents are
grief-stricken. They love you, and they miss you.
My father and I wept and prayed with your parents
– and they touched our hearts.

The escapee schoolgirls my father and I met
impressed us with their resolve to overcome their
challenges and to complete their high school
education. My father and I promised your parents
and the girls who had escaped that we would do all
we could to help them. I met Nigerian President
Goodluck Jonathan and urged him to work harder
for your freedom. I also asked President Jonathan
to meet your parents and the girls who escaped
the kidnapping, which he did a few days later. Still,
in my opinion, Nigerian leaders and the
international community have not done enough to
help you. They must do much more to help secure
your release. I am among many people pressuring
them to make sure you are freed.

There are reasons for hope and optimism.
Nigerian forces are re-gaining territory and
protecting more schools. Nigeria’s newly-elected
president, Muhammadu Buhari, has vowed to
make securing your freedom a top priority and
promised his government will not tolerate violence
against women and girls.
You will have the opportunity to receive the
education you want and deserve. The Malala Fund
and other organizations offered all your
classmates who escaped the kidnapping full
scholarships to complete their secondary
education. Most of the escapee girls accepted this
scholarship and are now continuing their studies at
a safe boarding school and with the support they
need. We hope to someday extend that same
scholarship to all 219 of you, when you return
home.

Remember that one day your tragic ordeal will end,
you will be reunited with your families and friends,
and you will have the chance to finish the
education you courageously sought. I look forward
to the day I can hug each one of you, pray with
you, and celebrate your freedom with your
families. Until then, stay strong, and never lose
hope. You are my heroes.

Your sister,
Malala

Angry youths in Bogoro, Bogoro Local Government
Area of Bauchi State allegedly beat a councillor
from Gizaki/Badagari Ward, Mr. Musa Daniel, to
death during Saturday’s elections.
The Chairperson of the Caretaker Committee of
Bogoro LGA, Mrs. Hassana Arkila, broke the news
to newsmen shortly after casting her vote.
Arkila described the incident as unfortunate,
saying it was the handiwork of enemies of the
country’s democracy.
“I have just been informed that one of my
councillors on lawful duty has been beaten to
death by irate youths. I am assuring you that the
full wrath of the law will catch up with the
attackers,” she said.
The council boss urged the people of the local
government to sheath their swords and embrace
peace, adding that violence was not the solution to
political differences.
According to Arkila the action of the youths was an
indication that the opposition was jittery of defeat
and called for calm among PDP supporters in the
area.
When our correspondent called the Public
Relations Officer, Bauchi State Police Command,
Haruna Mohammed, to confirm the incident, he
said he was not aware of it.
“I am not aware of such an incident but I will
confirm it later,” he said.

There are different habits that may hinder a lady from
getting married. But here, am not going to talk about
“Habits”of a lady but rather about “Kinds” of Ladies,
that faces late marriage and most times, No Marriage.
Below are the Four kinds of ladies that faces late
marriage and the answers that works :

1. The Perfect Lady : Here, the Perfect Lady do not
imply that the Lady herself is perfect. But rather, their
expectation of their dream man is too high that they
kept being selective on the type of man that they want.
Most times, the person they love may not like them, and
the person that likes them, may not be their love. Those
Perfect Ladies always want»»», A Tall, Rich, Caring&
Handsome man and if the lady is spiritual, she will be
waiting for “God’s Will”. Anyman that misses any of the
Four qualities ends up being rejected.

Their Problem : The problem such ladies faces is that
they end up loving the “Container” instead of the
“Content”.

The Solution : Accommodate a man who posses atleast
50% of the qualities you desire, the rest will develop with
love.

2. The Beautiful Lady : A beautiful lady is attractive to
the eye. They are victims of multiple relationships. Most
guys that dates beautiful ladies dates them for fun. The
attractiveness of a Lady makes it difficult for her to
keep herself for a man. This is because of temptation
from men, knocking left, right and centre.

Their Problem : The problem beautiful ladies faces is
that no one really loves them for who they are but likes
their beauty period. And men doubts their ability to
make a good home. This poses a threat for them to
marry cos most men considers a beautiful lady as a
flirt.

The Solution : Have a picture of the kind of man you
really want to marry. You are lucky that yua beautiful,
because you will get proposals from various kinds of
men; so be ready to identify that man whom you like to
marry. Be loyal to him. He will be proud to marry you.

3. The Rich-man’s daughter : The rich man’s daughter
bask on the euphoria of her father’s wealth. As far as
she’s concern, her father is her hero and no man can
replace her fathers love and care. She believes that
every man that is running after her is after her fathers
wealth. So this makes them unattractive to men. Men
are naturally proud and will not like to muddle their hard
earned reputation on such an insult.

Their Problem : Most rich men’s daughter marry late or
marry the wrong man.

The Solution : The Humility of a rich man’s daughter
is her greatest weapon to attract men. Men will
naturally be drawn to you, if you are humble. Your
beauty is secondary.

4. The Career Woman : These ladies are hardworking,
ambitious and successful in life. They may be feminist.
They are the champions of this saying, “What a man
can do, a woman can even do it better”. Marriage is not
their headache but career.

Their Problem : The problem of career women is time
management. They run everything in life like business
even relationship. Secondly, they always want to be the
Boss in all things and this poses a threat to men. The
more masculine a lady behaves, the less attractive she
is to a man. No man wants to marry another man.

The Solution : Every Career woman, cries in her closet.
She prays for a man who will love and treat her like a
woman. Your cry is over, woman! Simply be submissive
atleast to a man. Avoid arguments with him. And be
More feminine in your outlook. These are what you
need to make a man , marry you.

National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC,
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Sunday night expressed
joy over the emergence of the party’s candidate in the
Lagos State governorship election, Akinwunmi Ambode,
as governor-elect.
He ascribed the victory to the party’s members’ hard
work.
Tinubu, a former governor of the state, said Ambode’s
victory was predicated on the radical transformation
and well-articulated programmes he started 16 years
ago, hinting that Lagos would start another race in its
transformation drive given its alignment with the federal
government.
He also hailed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
candidate in the election, Mr Jimi Agbaje, for his
statesmanship, describing him as a man of good values
and character.
“We must bear in mind that a good democrat must
accept result of a free and fair election”, he said.
Tinubu said the PDP candidate showed “good spirit” by
calling Ambode on telephone to congratulate him and
for accepting his party’s loss in Saturday’s poll.
Tinubu said: “Our victory in Lagos is as a result of hard
work I started 16 years ago. Consistent radical
transformation of Lagos and well-articulated
programmes, including education, infrastructure, urban
renewal, innovative system of finance, knowledge-
based economy and job creation in partnership with
private sector. That resulted in leap development of
Lagos”.
The APC leader said there would always be a winner in
all contest, congratulating Ambode for his success.

President-Elect, Mohammadu Buhari says as much as
he wants the abducted Chibok girls rescued, he cannot
assure that his government when sworn-in will be able
to do so.
“As much as I wish to, I cannot promise that we can
find them,” Buhari was quoted to have said in a
statement.
“Today we remember the kidnapping of 276 girls from a
school in Chibok one year ago. This crime has rightly
caused outrage both in Nigeria and across the world.
“Today is a time to reflect on the pain and suffering of
the victims, their friends and families. Our thoughts and
prayers, and that of the whole Nigerian Nation, are with
you today.
“I want to assure all of them, and particularly the
parents, that when my new Administration takes office
at the end of May, we will do everything we can to
defeat Boko Haram. We will act differently from the
Government we replace: we hear the anguish of our
citizens and intend to respond accordingly.
“This new approach must also begin with honesty. We
do not know if the Chibok girls can be rescued. Their
whereabouts remain unknown. As much as I wish to, I
cannot promise that we can find them.
“But I say to every parent, family member and friend of
the children that my Government will do everything in its
power to bring them home.
“What I can pledge, with absolute certainty, is that
starting on the first day of my Administration Boko
Haram will know the strength of our collective will and
commitment to rid this nation of terror, and bring back
peace and normalcy to all the affected areas.
“’Boko Haram’ means ‘Western Education is Sinful’.
When they are defeated militarily, as they will be, we will
ensure our citizens in the affected areas have improved
educational opportunities as a direct counterbalance to
Boko Haram’s twisted ideology. In particular we will
educate ever more young girls ensuring they are
empowered as citizens of Nigeria.
“Let us use this anniversary to remind each other that
the attack on Chibok was an attack on the dreams and
aspirations of our young people.
“We stand united in our pledge to resist terror in
Nigeria– not just through military means but also
through the power of opportunity and the hope of a
better future for all,” the statement read.

With over 90% of votes collated across Lagos state
Saharareporters can conclusively state that Akinwunmi
Ambode of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won
majority of votes cast during Saturday's gubernatorial
election in Lagos state.

Mr. Ambode defeated Jimi Agbaje of the People's
Democratic Party (PDP) to become Governor-elect. The
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will
annunce final official results later today.

Hajia Aisha Jumai Alhassan, a serving senator and
former AttorneyGeneral/Commissioner of Justice of
Taraba state and candidate of the All Progressive
Congress is set to be declared the elected governor of
the state following election results that gave been
collated. Hajia Alhassan is leading her main opponent,
the Darius Ishaku, a former minister by a wide margin
which signifies that she would eventually emerge the
winner as collation has been reportedly concluded as at
the time of filing this report.
She would make history as the first elected governor of
the federal republic of Nigeria. The closest the females
had was the stint stay in office of Dame Virgy Etiaba
who was in office briefly following a sham
impeachment of her Principal, Governor Peter Obi who
was later reinstated. Hajia Alhassan is
the elder sister of Senator Abdulazeez Ibrahim
(1999-2007) who contested for the governorship sit in
2011 but lost to Danbaba Suntai.

According to the governor, who paraded
the streets of Ado-Ekiti in celebration of his
party’s victory in the House of Assembly
election as results trickled in Saturday
night, his party’s victory has confirmed
that the people of the state were solidly
behind the PDP:
“We defeated the All Progressives
Congress in all the 16 local governments
in the governorship election last June.
We repeated the same feat by winning in
all the councils during the recent
presidential and National Assembly
elections.
Today the people of the state have
spoken again and voted massively for
our party.
From the results we have from our
agents, we are winning again.
Those who are hitting their heads against
the wall must know that it is God who
enthrones and who has put us in the
saddle this period in time.”

Africa's richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote turned 58 on April 10th. His family and friends hosted him to a
private dinner.

El-rufa’i Leading With Landslide In Kaduna
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i, appeared to be
leading in a landslide at the close of polls in a number
of polling stations in some local government areas.
Results received last night from the polling units
showed that El-Rufa’i had beaten his opponent,
Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, by a wide margin.
The margin further widened as results were received in
the local government areas including Kaduna North,
Kaduna South, Igabi, Chikun, Birnin Gwari, Sabon Gari,
Giwa, Makarfi, Ikara, Kagarko, Kachia, Kauru, Jaba,
Kaura and Lere.
Results emerging from various poling units across the
local government areas in Northern Senatorial District
of Kaduna state indicated that the All Progressive
Congress (APC) took an early lead in the
gubernatorial and state assembly elections that took
place yesterday.
In the Kwankira polling unit 013, where Governor
Mukhtar Ramalan Yero voted, the results show that the
governor has won his polling unit with wide margin. His
party PDP scored 316 against APC’s 61, while in the
state assembly, PDP scored 278 against APC’s 178.
In the neighbouring polling unit, PDP scored 273 against
APC’s 109 in the governor’s race, while the state
assembly election showed that PDP had secured 288
votes against APC’s 170.
However, result obtained from Gidan Bayye 008 polling
unit of Tudun Jukun area of Zaria shows that APC
scored 225 in the gubernatorial race against PDP’s 9
while APC scored 229 against PDP’s 8 in the state
assembly.
In the same Tudun Jukun area at Unguwan Mahauta
polling unit APC scored 742 against PDP’s 15 in the
gubernatorial race, while APC scored 732 against PDP’s
15 in the State assembly’s election.
In booth 005 of the same area, APC scored 601 against
PDP’s 26 in governor’s race, while APC scored 603
against PDP’s 22 in assembly’s election.
In Sabon Gari local government area at the two polling
units that made up Anguwan Nomi APC scored 243 and
259 against PDP’s 12 and 14, respectively, in the
gubernatorial race, while APC scored 243 and 249
against PDP’s 16 and 13 respectively.
In Chikaji polling unit 005 of the same local government,
APC scored 444 against PDP’s 27 in the governorship
election, while the state assembly result showed that
APC scored 453 against PDP’s 10.
In Ikara local government area, result from Unguwan
Makama polling units showed that at booth 005 APC
scored 274 against PDP’s 102 in gubernatorial race,
while in assembly’s election APC scored 191 against
PDM’s 139 and PDP’s 41 respectively. In booth 006,
APC scored 274 against PDP’s 110 in gubernatorial
race, while in the assembly’s election APC scored 195
against PDM’s 138 and PDP’s 41 respectively.
Our correspondent reports that the election was
generally peaceful in the northern senatorial district of
Kaduna state except reports of where some politicians
and even traditional rulers were alleged to have used
money in inducing voters.
INEC is yet to announce the results officially but it is
unlikely for Yero to close the gap at the polls.

So far, the APC and the PDP candidates are competing
neck to neck. There are a number of polling units where
they poll the same number of votes. In many cases, the
winning margins are less than 10 votes.

Leader of the Reality Organisation in the
South-East and mother of former Abia State
Governor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and her
members have officially joined the All
Progressives Congress (APC).
Also, former member of the House of
Representatives, Hon Nnanna Uzor Kalu
and ex-Chief of Staff to Governor Theodore
Orji, Mr. Mascot Uzor Kalu, who are
siblings of the former governor joined the
APC.
The decampees were received by the
President-elect, General Mohammadu
Buhari, when he visited Imo State
yesterday to thank the people for voting for
him as well as asking them to also vote for
Governor Rochas Okorocha and APC House
of Assembly candidates in Saturday
elections.
Speaking at a Town Hall meeting in
Owerri, Buhari expressed confidence that
the APC will experience credible polls in
South East and South-South, better than
what happened during the Presidential and
National Assembly elections two weeks
ago.
The President-elect noted that South-East
states have exhibited courage and
commitment and so deserve the system of
change to be brought by the incoming APC
government.
“Okorocha and the governors of Rivers and Edo
have shown courage to the system of APC. The
vote of the people is their strength and if it is
allowed to count, they can vote out a government
that does not meet their expectations and this is
what the APC government stands for,” he said.
While promising to give the South-East
zone a level playing ground in his
administration, he urged the electorates to
vote all the APC governorship candidates
at the weekend’s election.
Present at the event were the National
Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-
Oyegun, Senator Chris Ngige, Prince Eze
Madumere, Senator Osita Izunaso, the Imo
State House of Assembly Speaker, Ben
Uwajumogu, among other APC leaders
across the South East.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife that ex-
Governor Kalu may follow his mother and
brothers to join the APC. Daily Sun
gathered that the APC leadership has been
mounting pressure on Kalu to join the
party.
When contacted on this, Kalu said he was
about boarding a plane in London for
Abuja and would not comment.
Orji Uzor Kalu was recently spotted
dancing shoki as the Isiukwuato
community declared total support for his
unsuccessful senatorial race.

The Lagos State governorship candidate of
the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Jimi
Agbaje, says he will accept defeat in good
faith if he loses the election.
Agbaje’s major contender, Mr. Akinwunmi
Ambode, is the governorship candidate of
the ruling party in Lagos, the All
Progressives Congress.
According to the PDP candidate, election
should not be a do-or-die affair.
Agbaje said, “There is no attitude about it
when it comes to offering yourself to serve
the people. If they say they prefer the other
candidate, then you have to accept it in
good faith. That is sportsmanship.”
Agbaje arrived at his polling unit ─ 009
Douala, Apapa ─ around 10am with his
wife, but it took six attempts for the card
reader to recognise his fingerprint.
Speaking on the experience, he said,
“During the last polls, the card reader
worked like magic for me. But today, it was
at the sixth attempt that the card worked.
“But that could be a problem in high
density areas. The process could drag on if
the machines do not work properly.”

John Oyegun, the national chairman of APC
said today Saturday April 11th that the gale
of defections by politicians was not good
for Nigeria’s political development.
Mr. Oyegun, who spoke to newsmen in
Benin shortly after casting his vote,
advised those defecting to the winning
party to rather form a formidable
opposition to enrich the nation’s
democracy.

“Many opposition party members have
defected to APC just because they lost out,
that is not good for political development.
One would have advised that opposition
members should stay where they are, and
form a formidable opposition party.” Mr.
Oyegun said.

He described the governorship and houses
of assembly elections as “the most decent,
orderly and peaceful” ever conducted in
Edo. Meanwhile, the APC national
chairman won the election in his polling
unit.

Barcelona threw away a two-goal lead to share the
spoils with Sevilla 2-2 in the La Liga on Saturday and hand Real Madrid a lifeline.

Kevin Gameiro rescued a point for Sevilla six minutes
from time after Ever Benega had halved the home
team’s deficit.

Lionel Messi opened the scoring for the Spanish
Primera division leader in the 14th minute with a curled
effort, and Neymar doubled the lead on 31 minutes with
a lovely free-kick.

The draw reduced Barca’s lead over Real at the top of
the standings to just two points after Carlo Ancelotti’s
men secured a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Eibar
earlier in the day.
Sevilla thus remain unbeaten at home this season and
stay fifth in the table, as Barca fail to claim a tenth
consecutive win.

Just days after Muhammadu Buhari of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) won the presidential
election, stories of massive defection from the People’s
Democratic Party (PDP) ruled the airwaves. But the
defectors will be shocked by the position of the president-elect on their move.

In an interview at his residence in Daura, Katsina State,
Buhari noted that members of the APC had nothing to
fear over the mass defection of PDP members to the
party.
“I have no fears of PDP defectors,” he said. “The people
who are defecting will only have influence in their
constituencies. Since their constituencies are now
controlled by the APC, their influence is, therefore,
limited,” he said.
However, Buhari expressed hope that the defectors
would be realistic about their position in their new party.
“I hope the people that are defecting will accept the fact
that they are joining the people who succeeded. So, I
don’t think they will just come and say they want to be
ministers next month, simply because they were
ministers before,” he said.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
for the governorship election in Lagos State Akinwumi
Ambode is leading the candidate of the Peopel’s
Democratic Party (PDP) with over 90 percent of votes collated across the state.

As it stands, Ambode has 724,114 votes, while Agbaje
has 560, 453. View results compiled by Sahara Reporters.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
is expected to announce the final results later today.

The Emir of Wamba in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Musa
Nagogo, on Friday pleaded with politicians to accept the
outcome of the March 28 and April 11 general elections
in good faith.

The emir made the plea during an interview with
reporters at Wamba Local Government Area, Nasarawa
State.

“Leadership as an act of God; God gives power to
whoever he wishes. The electorate should vote for God-
fearing leaders in the interest of peace and
development.

“As a traditional ruler, my role is to preach peace, unity
and to advise my subjects and other Nigerians to live in
peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic,
religious and political affiliation.

“No nation or society can develop in an atmosphere of
rancour and confusion. The security challenges facing
some parts of the country have affected the socio-
economic development of the country”, he said.

According to Nagogo, as the general elections draw
nearer, the people of Nasarawa State and indeed every
Nigerian should shun violence and resist the urge to be
used by selfish individuals to foment trouble.

He also called on the populace to pray for successful
and peaceful elections.

The monarch specifically charged the youth to always
respect constituted authorities, be law abiding and
engage in meaningful ventures in order to contribute
their quota to national development.

Imo State Police Command yeaterday in Owerri, arrested
Mr. Okechukwu Okorocha, the Senior Special Adviser, SSA,
on Security Matters, to Governor Rochas Okorocha, for
allegedly stockpiling arms and ammunition apparently for
the purpose of disrupting election in the State.

Similarly, four members of Imo Security Network, ISN, a
security contraption established by the Rochas Okorocha
administration, are also cooling their heels in police cells for
the same offence.

Parading the suspects before newsmen at the State Police
Headquarters, Owerri, the Commissioner of Police, Mr.
Austin Evbakhavbokun, said that the arrest of the security
aide and ISN personnel, followed a tip off.
“The arrest of the SSA and the illegal security personnel
followed a very reliable tip off and subsequent search
operation conducted by the State Criminal Investigation
Department, SCID, at his house and premises led to the
recovery of the arms and ammunitions”, the CP said.

The Imo Police boss, who spoke through Public Public
Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, a deputy
superintendent of police, DSP, disclosed that “in the course
of the operation, the police recovered three pump action
automatic rifles, 24 life cartridges and a Ken WalkieTalkie”.

Continuing, the CP said that in a similar operation at the
security post of Imo Security Network at Egbeada Housing
Estate, on the outskirts of Owerri Municipality, apprehended
four members of Okorocha’s ISN, as well as recovered three
automatic pump action riffles and 14 live cartridges.

He gave the names of the suspects as Kelechi Onuoha,
Chigozie Uzowuru, Osita Obiako and Aka Linus.

On why the Okorocha men were stockpiling arms and
ammunitions, the CP said it was aimed at disrupting the
general elections in the state.

Answering a question, the CP recalled that soon after
assuming office in Imo, he issued a warning that all
unapproved security outfits should surrender their arms to
the Police.

“The arrest of the suspects was in order, considering the
time for the general election scheduled to begin today”, the
CP said.

Speaking to newsmen, the SSA to the Governor explained
that before his arrest, he had asked his men to surrender
their arms for onward submission to the police, adding that
since his directive, he had surrendered a number of arms to
the police, which is in their inventory.
“I was surprised to see arms recovered in one of my rooms.

The recovered arms may be the ones ISN members could
not return earlier before I traveled”, Mr. Okorocha said.

He further explained that before now, his men had been
working closely with the police, adding that Imo Security
Network has contributed in the reduction of kidnapping in
the state.
