Singer turned politician 9ice has reacted to reports he
crashed out at the recent APC Primary election. In a report
on Sunnewsonline today, the reporter wrote;
Another celebrity-entertainer who lost out, after being
widely considered as ‘the chose one’ is Abolore
Akande, aka, 9ice. He vied for the ticket to represent
Ogbomosho North/South/Orire Federal Constituency
of Oyo State under the platform of APC. It was still not
yet clear what really went wrong as at press time.
9ice has slammed the report, denying he's crashed out.

9ice Refutes The Sun Report on Primary Election Crash out
I-Abolore Akande popularly known as 9ICE hereby debunk
the news being published in THE SUN by Ckuks Eze today
5th December that I am no longer in the race to contest for
the APC ticket as an aspirant for the House of Reps in
Ogomosho South, North and Orire Federal Constituency as a
blatant lie. I suspect he has been bribed by my opponents
to rubbish my efforts. It is a joke of the century and a plan
by enemies and killers of good dream. I am very much in
the race and with you support and prayers, success is
certain.
Signed: Abolore ‘9ice’ Akande

193 prisoners out of the over 300 that escaped during the
explosion that rocked the Federal Prison in Ado-Ekiti, the
Ekiti state capital on Sunday November 30th have been
recaptured. Confirming their recapture, the state Prison's
spokesman, Mr Ope Fatinikun said the chase for other
escapees was still on. He urged people in neighboring
states of Ondo, Kogi, Edo, Oyo and Kwara to be vigilant as
some of the prisoners might want to take refuge in their
community.

Everyday you hear another one. Users of Reddit.com are
discussing it seriously and I thought to bring it here.
There's supposedly a new drink that some 'crazy' ladies are
making these days as love potion to keep the men of their
dreams. It's a drink made of rum and menstrual blood.
They claim that if a man drinks it, he will fall in love with the
woman whose period blood it is. Lol. Choi! Nothing wey
person no go hear. Check their comments below:

Greatest gift a mum can give to her daughter. Two women
have given birth using wombs donated by their own
mothers. The pair become the first ever to have children
using the very womb that brought them into the world a
generation earlier.
The breakthrough brings hope to women who want children
but were born without a womb or have had it removed.
The two mothers are among nine women to have been
given womb transplants – seven of which have succeeded.
Allan Pacey of the British Fertility Society said: ‘That’s a
very good success rate for a new surgical procedure. If it
carries on like this, it may have a massive impact on things
like surrogacy.
‘Women would much prefer to have their own baby and be
pregnant than watch another woman be pregnant.’
The babies – both boys – were born a month ago in
Sweden and are doing well with their mothers at home.
Henrik Hagberg, a professor in foetal medicine at King’s
College London, who was at the first birth, praised the
grandmothers who had hysterectomies to donate wombs to
their daughters.
‘It is an absolutely extraordinary gift. It is probably the best
thing you can do for your daughter,’ he said.
‘The mothers were still very much doubting whether things
would really go well. You don’t take anything for
granted when you have experienced all of the problems they
have been through.’
The first child, who weighed 5lb 8oz, was born to a 29-year-
old Swede who lacked a womb at birth.
The mother of the second boy, who weighed in at 5lb 15oz,
is 34 and had her womb removed when she was treated for
cancer in her 20s.
Both babies were delivered by Caesarean section around a
month early. They join another history-making boy, named
Vincent. Born in September as part of the Gothenburg
University project, he was the first in the world to be born
from a womb transplant.

Manchester United secured their fourth straight win at
home to Stoke City in the first midweek action of the
Premier League season to hang-on to fourth position
on the standings.
Goals from Maroaune Fellaini and Juan Mata ensured
that Louis van Gaal’s men retain confidence ahead of
the weekend’s trip to third-placed Southampton.
Teenager James Wilson started upfront in place of the
injured Wayne Rooney and as expected, Angel Di Maria
joined the United’s skipper on the sidelines, with Ander
Herrera earning his promotion to the stating XI following
his impressive outing over the weekend.
Mark Hughes rang a trio of changes from the side that
lost 1-0 at Liverpool last time, as forward Oussama
Assaidi came in for Jon Walters, while right-back Phil
Bardsley and midfielder Stephen Ireland took Marko
Arnatauvic’s and Steve Sidwell’s places

The last meeting between both sides resulted in Stoke’s
first-ever Premier League win over United and having
earned results against Manchester City and Tottenham
Hotspur already in the present term, the Old Trafford
folks were on their guard right from the onset.
Herrera should have opened scores just after a quarter
of an hour but let fly his shot from inside of the box
after Robin van Persie collected a terrible clearance
from Asmir Begovic to cut a neat pass on to the
Spaniard.
After struggling to get the breakthrough their good start
deserved, Fellaini slotted the hosts in ascendancy on 21
minutes, rising head above others to powerfully thump
Herrera’s cross in at the back post.
Stoke continued to have their fair share of chances and
Bojan was halted from equalising by a superb Marcos
Rojo defending; the Argentine recovering brilliantly to
clear a nearly good pass from in front of the former
Barcelona forward.
The Potters would not relent and leveled through Steven
Nzonzi, 9 minutes after half an hour. Bojan started off
a surging move through the United defence, then
watched the ball hit Chris Smalling’s heels and break to
Nzonzi, who fired in from the edge of the area.
Fellaini forced Begovic to another save- though from a
tame shot- as both sides went into the break
deadlocked on a goal apiece.
United hit the ground running after the break, hanging
high up about the visitors’ end for the winning goal.
That which Mata delivered in the 59th minute, when his
curled free-kick evaded everybody and bounced in at
the back post- though Rojo appeared to claim his head
touched the ball.
David de Gea had been more of a spectator for much of
the proceeding but not in the last ten minutes, with
Hughes’ side opting for more direct attack.
Former United man Mame Biram Diouf almost pulled
off a Stoke leveler, but De Gea made a good reflexive
save to claw out the Senegalese’s back post header.
The Spanish goalkeeper then blocked substitute Marko
Arnautovic’s effort and Ashley Young was on hand to
clear Diouf’s follow up off the line as United clung to
their fourth victory in four matches.
As for Stoke, it was their third straight loss since last
month’s home defeat by Burnley.

Gov. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Tuesday
handed over 30 operational vehicles, two area ladders
and two towing vehicles to the Lagos State Fire Service.
Fashola said during the handover ceremony that by
providing more facilities the state government was
bringing the Police Force and the fire service closer to
the people.
“We are bringing the police force and the fire service
close to your neighbourhoods.
“Last week we handed over the Area ‘C’ building to the
Lagos State Police Command. This is to show that our
commitment to saving lives and property is not
diminishing”, he said.
The Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Rasaq
Fadipe, advised residents of the state to memorise the
three-digit emergency numbers (767 and 112) of the
service as the dry season approached.
Fadipe said that the service had responded to over
1,338 fire incidents between January and October.
He also said that over 400 fire hydrants had been
resuscitated to serve the people in case of fire
outbreaks. (NAN)

There are usually two general viewpoints
towards women who wear make up every day:
1) “They look professional, put together, and
ready for their day;” or, 2) “They are ‘try-hards’
and put too much effort into their appearance.
Why not go for the more natural look?”
Well, I want to defend the women who do
choose to wear make up more often than not.
Not saying that those who go natural are not
worth defending, but since I identify as a
makeup lover — personally, I put a lot of effort
and precision into doing my makeup some
mornings — I will stand up for my fellow
comrades.

1. Really, we just do it for ourselves.

Okay, do not get me wrong: I truthfully admit
that sometimes the only reason girls wear make
up to impress guys and sometimes even other
girls. However, most mornings, I can honestly
say the only person I put on make up for is
myself. When I have makeup on, I feel good. I
don’t feel ugly without it, but it gives me that
extra confident boost that you need once in a
while.

2. It’s PURRTYYY.

Makeup is an art. When my friends ask me to
do their makeup, I honestly feel more artistic
than I have ever felt in my life. Personally, I’ve
always felt like my creativity has staggered as
I’ve gotten older. However, when I am doing
makeup on myself or someone else, I feel like
there are no limits. I can try out different
techniques without out the fear of it “going to
waste” because if you mess up, all you do is
start over again.

3. It corrects thing that we cannot
always correct on our own.
Confession time:

I have horrible under eye
circles. I have been self-conscious about my
dark circles since I was 13. When I discovered
the power of concealer, I was baffled because I
had witnessed a miracle. My droopy eyes had
turned bright and alert for once. Makeup is
helpful when it comes down to the emergency
situations: zits, blotchiness, and blackheads.
These are all times when I need a little dab of
foundation here and there.

4. It’s a way to be expressive.

When I see a woman with dramatic plum
shadow, high-blushed cheekbones, and nude
glossy lips, I can immediately sense a way in
which she expresses herself. Some girls go for
the natural look and others go for the dramatic,
sexy look. Either way, I can gage a tiny part of
their personality. My sister, who usually never
ever goes dramatic, is far more reserved and
quiet in a beautiful way. I, on the contrary,
always go dramatic, which makes sense because
people usually describe me outspoken and
crazy. It doesn’t always work in that way, but
more often than not, makeup says things about
a woman they usually do not say on their own.
Needless to say, you are beautiful whether you
choose to wear makeup or not. Don’t feel
pressured to wear make up because other
women do. Do not wear it because you think
you’re at an age where it’s necessary to start
wearing it. Wear it because you want to. Wear
it as a form of creativity and expression. And
really, how can you not be tempted when you
walk into Sephora? I firmly believe the gates of
heaven will look something like doors of
Sephora when I die. At the end of the day, have
fun with your makeup and apply what you are
comfortable wearing.

Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen has undergone
surgery to treat a right leg muscle injury, the Spanish
club announced on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old has not featured in a competitive
match for the Catalan giants since he signed from
Arsenal in a £14m deal in the summer. His only
appearance was in a friendly match for Barca’s
reserves in September.

The club said in a statement: “Thomas Vermaelen
successfully underwent surgery this Wednesday on the
semitendinosus muscle in his right hamstring. The
operation was performed in Finland by Dr Sakari Orava
and the recovery period is estimated at approximately
four months.”
Meaning he is not likely to make his long-awaited debut
until April.
Vermaelen featured for just 29 minutes at this year’s
World Cup before picking up an injury during Belgium
clash with Russia and, hence missed out of the ‘Red
Devils’s’ quarter-final loss to Argentina. He made 14
appearances for the ‘Gunners’ last season also owing
to injury.

This blue hue Valentino sheer long sleeve tulle gown that
has an embroidered heart on the bust-line is one of the
most expensive Valentino dresses of the season. It's worth
a whooping $16,900 and if you convert that to Naira (with
the devaluation of naira right now) then the dress is over
N3million.

Kudos to Lagos State Governor, Raji Fashola who is the
first Nigerian governor to open a sex offenders register. He
signed an executive order to provide for compulsory
reporting of actual or suspected child abuse and
establishment of a sex offenders’ register at the State
House, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, yesterday Dec. 1st.
He also identified Alimosho, Kosofe, Agege and Oshodi-
Isolo Local Govt as the councils with the highest cases of
Sexual and Gender Based Violence crimes in the state...
Below is what Fashola said
“I will like to tell those perpetrating the act in these
local governments (Alimosho, Kosofe, Agege and
Oshodi-Isolo) to desist now because we would be
coming after them. We will combat these crimes so
that they do not become big crimes in the state. Also,
in order to ensure that criminals are monitored, we
have created a crime data register which states
everyone who has engaged the criminal justice
system of the state, and we have close to a 100, 000
offenders on that register. And very soon, we would
start deploying people to the data rooms in the police
stations across the state to gather the bio data of
offenders including their photographs and others.
“This was why we have asked everyone to register so
that before you employ anyone, you will know his
track record. And this is the time for everyone
especially women to speak against it. This is the time
for us to have a local enforcement unit; either we call
it state police or whatever name we wish to call it, to
protect the women from frequent abuse from the
opposite gender. This is the time for women to rise up
and challenge employers who sets unimaginable
targets for their female employees. These were
targets they could not set for men,” he said
The Lagos State Attorney-General Mr Ade Ipaye added that
“We monitoring one hundred and thirteen 113 sexual
violence cases currently at the High Court. The Team
is working actively to ensure prompt prosecution of
these cases. The major aim of the Sex Offenders
Monitoring Programme and the Mandated Reporter
policy is to reduce repeat cases by providing names
and personal details of convicted sex offenders in the
State to a central database. The Database will be
accessible to individuals and organizations that need
information. For example, School proprietors who
want to recruit can access this Register as a form of
background check.
“The Mandated Reporter policy will make it
compulsory for all State School Administrators,
Counsellors, Teachers, Social Welfare Officers and
any other official of the State Government having any
dealings with children to report any suspected or
actual child abuse or neglect to the Attorney-General’s
office. It is envisaged that the Lagos State Sex
Offenders Register will be open and maintained by the
Lagos State Ministry of Justice in partnership with the
Lagos State Judiciary, the Nigerian Prisons and the
Nigerian Police”. He said.

Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka today likened Pres.
Jonathan to the biblical Babylonian autocrat, King
Nebuchadnezzar.
While speaking at a press conference at the Freedom Park
in Lagos today, with the theme: “King Nebuchadnezzar –
the reign of impunity,” Prof Wole Soyinka said Pres.
Jonathan’s administration has become known for
lawlessness and that Nigerians have been thrown into the
furnace of fire just like Shedrack, Mishak and Abednego
were thrown into the furnace by Nebuchadnezzar for not
bowing down to him.Choi! Lol. Continue to read what he
said...
"You should easily recall why I opted for King Nebu –
the figure that currently sits on the top of our political
pile himself evoked it, albeit in a context that
virtuously disclaimed any similarities, even
tendencies. Perhaps he meant it at the time when he
claimed: ‘I am not Nebuchadnezzar.’ Perhaps not.
One judges leaders on acts however, not
pronouncements, which are often as reliable as
electoral promises. King Nebu remains relevant – and
not only for leadership. We, the citizens, are beginning
to feel the heat. We wake up each morning to a
sensation that we have been cast into the furnace
together with those who at least committed the crime
of dissent or criticism".
Prof Soyinka also berated the Inspector General of Police
for invading the National Assembly
"The recent choice of a new leader for the guard was
clearly no accident, and this hitherto unknown
enforcer, one Suleiman Abba, has wasted no time in
inaugurating a season of brutish power. When a
people’s elected emissaries are disenfranchised, cast
out like vagrants and resort to scaling fences to
engage in their designated functions, the people get
the message”.
He applauded the lawmakers who scaled the National
Assembly fence on November 20th, saying it wasn't a show
of shame but rather the finest moments of the lawmakers.
In a swift reaction, the Special Assistant to President
Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe, described the
submission of Prof Soyinka as unfortunate. According to Dr
Okupe, "it is quite saddening to note that Prof Wole had
become so close to the opposition party so much that he
has stopped giving appreciable and unbiased contribution to
national topics. Our eminent professor also sadly plays the
ostrich as he failed to reprimand Governor Amaechi, who is
the ‘national champion of impunity and official
recklessness’. The administration of President Goodluck
Jonathan prides itself as the most liberal, keeping faith with
adherence to rule of law and tolerance,”.
He accused the Nobel laureate of ignoring what he termed
the immoral, indefensible and unlawful attitude of the
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal,
after his defection.
